William J Weber

William J Weber is a freelance horn player in the Elgin area. He is anticipating a 2025 graduation from NIU's School of Music, in music performance. Throughout middle and high school, William played in various youth symphonies. William reached co-principal horn of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra by senior year. After graduating high school, William immediately made it into NIU's top band and orchestra. Throughout his freshman year he participated and helped run a brass quintet and horn quartet. In 2022, William performed the only standalone freshman recital at NIU, being the first one in years. In 2023, he was one of two who performed a sophomore recital. Currently William performs as principal horn of NIU's Wind Ensemble. Academically, William also strives, earning his place on the Dean's list spring 2022 and spring 2023. In 2024, William served as third horn in the Credo National Music Festival Orchestra, performing  Mahler's Symphony No. 1 at Chicago's Orchestra Hall. Through various scholarships and talent scholarships, he was able to afford NIU and focus on his future of being a performer. Insight into NIU, from a student's perspective, to experience with college auditions, there are few better.
